I was talking to someone the other day who was distressed about amount of racial and political tension currently. He was even more astounded in how God was being claimed as a justification for the violence and hate. “There is even disunity among Christians!” he expressed. Everybody has stress…
but 75% of people report physical and emotional complications along with it! Stressors like job pressures, relationship struggles, financial strain, poor eating habits and illness.
Many people lack support in these times of trouble and might seek outlets for their stress…those outlets just create different difficulties and result in more stress.
Chaplains want to be a loving presence – the alternative resource for people in when they need a friend and advisor most – doing so by building relationships that are consistent, confidential and nonjudgmental.
Walking through the challenges of life with people and help them with those struggles and be a different kind of outlet – a loving, healthy outlet.
Just the way God would want us to support and love each other!
